Stubbornness and the Shadow within intelligence.
"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow- witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." - Leo Tolstoy
There is a phrase that i learned on rote as a student many years ago that relates to how people shape themselves to the experiences of their lives. The phrase is ‘how we hold’ and with every client i look to how they are ‘holding’. By holding i mean mentally ( Psychically), emotionally and eventually physically.
These are results of how we process experiences, our attitudes and beliefs. Two very different kids for example can experience the same dynamics but ‘hold to them’ quite differently. These differences show up in the body, sometimes instantaneously and sometimes over time.
Stubbornness is a mental/emotional attitude, the physical outcomes of a stubborn person are energies that get held very tightly - especially in the great emotional transformers of the chakras.
Rigid belief systems are a real challenge to overcome, and this is mirrored energetically. I’ve seen this dynamic play out quite a few times on yoga retreats where i have been a guest practitioner. There may be one or more yogi that watch friend after friend unwind in my energy sessions and then they arrive at my door with seriousness and rigidity.
It’s as if their subconscious is screaming at me “you can’t fix me” or “ i won’t let go” and there’s an old saying in relation to suggestion to the subconscious with beliefs which goes like this…”.wether you believe it or not, either way you will be right”.
Being conscious of these dynamics is very important, ask yourself things like “ where did i learn that attitude?” or who else that i know thinks like this?. Often we will even parrot vocal tones or inflections from the person of main influence.
Our programming can open us or close us, and the energies within follow the patterns of the mind. Meditation is a short circuiting of these programs. And so is my style of Energy Therapy.
