ZEN
Clearly the principles here are to reach a refinement within ourselves that can meet the refinement of Zen.
Zen is an ultra condensed version of understanding cosmic forces and laws. It has tremendous beauty in both its intelligence and form.
I will quote the great Rajneesh teacher OSHO on this matter.
“ Zen is like a telegram. It believes in the very essentials. It has no nonsense about it, no rituals, no chanting, no mantras, no scriptures - just small anecdotes. If you have the right awareness, they will hit you directly in the heart. It is a very condensed and crystallised teaching, but it needs the person to be prepared for it. And the only preparation is meditative awareness.
Zen books are very fragmentary. They are telegrams - urgent, immediate, not giving you any explanation, but simply giving you the very essence, the perfume of a thousand flowers.
You just have to be alert and meditative enough to absorb them. I’m trying to give a context, the right background, because I am talking to people who are not born in the Zen tradition.
OSHO
Slowing down is essential - meditation and internal refinements are the keys to the locks.
It is the space in between the thoughts where power truly resides.
I will begin teaching some Zen orientated meditations soon in my Gold coast Clinic.
